Something that will give our guests an idea of what and where the wedding will be just by looking at it. With all these in mind, we finally decided on what our wedding invitation will be - the classic "message in a bottle".

We made our wedding invitation out of empty bottles with cork, thanks to our best man (Mark Kee), centennial japanese paper, white sands, beach stones, recycled newspaper rope, and raffia.

We printed our invitation on a centennial japanese paper burnt on one side to get that "ancient" feel in it. As for that "beach feel", we put some white sands and beach stones in the bottle. We tied the recycled newspaper rope around the opening of the bottle to have that "classic message in a bottle" effect. We had the invitation rolled and tied with raffia. The other end of the raffa is exposed to easily get the invitation out without turning the bottle upside down.
